Funeral Services for Avis Gibbons will be held at 3:00pm on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at the Wade Funeral Home Chapel. Avis Bonita Sullivan Gibbons, 91 left her earthly home on Saturday, July 13th to live in her heavenly home. Greeted by her Savior Jesus, her husband, daughter, and many more relatives and friends.  A promise fulfilled by her Savior. Reverend Steve Wilson and Reverend Gene Theriot will officiate and interment will follow in the Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery.

Wade Funeral Home is charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Roberts, Ronnie Russum, Evan Russum, Jason Russum, Bobby Scanlon, and Jeremy Lay.

Mrs. Gibbons was born on March 12, 1928, in Covington County to Travis Cornelia Sullivan and Ethel Irene Jones Sullivan. She was a homemaker, caregiver, devoted wife and mother, grandmother, aunt, gifted seamstress, wonderful cook and hostess, and friend to many.  Most of all, she was a devoted Christian and faithful worker for her Savior.

Mrs. Gibbons was greeted by her Savior Jesus, parents, Travis and Ethel Sullivan: her husband, Lewis Edsel Gibbons; her daughter, Vera Gale Pennington: and her sisters, Frances Burnham and her husband Lester, and Connie Scanlon and her husband Harold.

She is survived by her daughter, Kay (Ronnie) Russum, her grandchildren Stephanie Arnold of Pearl MS, Jennifer (Django) Grant of Gun Barrel City TX, and Jason Russum of Brandon MS, fourteen great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 17, 2019 from 1:00pm until service time at Wade Funeral Home.
