Graveside services for Mrs. Barbara Banister will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, December 9, 2020, at Highland Cemetery in Hattiesburg. Mrs. Banister, age 80, passed away from this life on Sunday, December 6, 2020, in Hattiesburg. The Reverend Timothy Beard will officiate.

Barbara Marie Woods Banister was born on March 19, 1940, in San Francisco, CA, to Murl Robert Woods and Beatrice Marie Speer Woods. She was a retired seamstress and a member of Collins United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father; 3 children, Angie Jones, Vickie Dickerson, and Jeff Sager; and 1 step-son, Zane Banister.

Survivors include her husband, John Banister of Collins; 1 step-daughter, Sandra Minter of Bogalusa, LA; 1 step-son, Teague Banister of Collins; 9 grandchildren, Amber Whitsett, Katie Anderson, Jennifer Murray, Snuffy Jones, Jeremy Hilliard, Terry Sager, Holly Sager, Terry Dickerson, and Ramona Dickerson; 2 step-grandchildren, Ethan Banister and Emma Banister; 10 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and 1 brother, Patrick Woods (Grace) of Porterville, CA; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
