Mrs. Barbara Abercrombie Blancett

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Monday at the Wade Funeral Home Chapel for Barbara Abercrombie Blancett, age 70. Mrs. Blancett passed away from this life on Thursday, May 5, 2016 in Collins. Rev. Jonathan Celoria and Rev. Chad Cummins will officiate. Lisa Blancett will provide the musical service. Interment will be in the Willow Grove Cemetery with Wade Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Glen Robinson, Jason Mitchell, Anthony Mitchell, James Jarrell, Kevin Ellzey, and Steve Walters. Mike Almond will serve as Honorary Pallbearer.

Barbara Lou Abercrombie Blancett was born in Laurel on April 27, 1946, to Thay Abercrombie and Olene Pitts Abercrombie. She was a homemaker and was a member of Evergreen Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father; her husband of 49 years, Walter Lindsey Blancett, Sr.; and 1 sister, Shirley Ann Craven.

Survivors are 5 sons, Walter Lindsey Blancett, Jr. and his wife Shannon of Seminary, John Wayne Blancett and his wife Carol of Collins, Kevin Mark Blancett and his wife Rachel of Petal, Scottie Dyran Blancett and his wife Lisa of Collins, and Benjamin Tyler Blancett and his wife Christine of Collins; 2 daughters, Tracy Belinda Switzer and her husband Timothy of Seminary and Vanessa Lynn Ingram and her husband Jerry of Scottsboro, AL; 1 sister, Fay Nell Mitchell and her husband Michael of Seminary; 16 grandchildren; 11 great- grandchildren; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Sunday evening at the Wade Funeral Home from 5 until 8 pm.
