Funeral services for Mrs. Barbara Ann McDaniel will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, June 23, 2025, in the Wade Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. McDaniel, age 79, passed away from this life on Saturday, June 21, 2025, in Thoedore, AL. Brother Wade Bush and Brother Derek Fretwell will officiate and Mrs. Lorrie Tanner and Mrs. Wanda Smith will provide the musical service. Interment will follow in the Collins City Cemetery.

Wade Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Norton Holifield, Will Hendry, Tanner Walters, Randall Lowe, Barnie McInvale, and Ross Ferguson. Dan Frith will serve as Honorary Pallbearer.

Barbara Ann Gatewood McDaniel was born on June 25, 1945, in Collins to D.C. and Polly Sumner Gatewood. Mrs. McDaniel was retired from South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel where she served as a medical transcriptionist. Mrs. McDaniel was a member of Tucker's Crossing Baptist Church, and more recently attended Woodridge Baptist Church in Mobile, AL.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, D.C. and Polly Gatewood; and her husband, Kenneth McDaniel.

Survivors include her husband, George McInvale of Theodore, AL; 1 daughter, Cindy (Wes) Hendry of Louin; 1 son, Mark (Sandra) McDaniel of Columbia; 4 grandchildren, Anna (Tanner) Walters, Will Hendry, Madison McDaniel, and Lauren McDaniel; a step-daughter, Alisha (Randall) Lowe; and 2 step-grandchildren, Grayson Lowe and Noelle Lowe; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be the Monday, June 23, 2025, from 11:30am until 1:00pm at Wade Funeral Home.
