Funeral Services for Beatrice Speed will be held at 2:00pm Tuesday, July 30, 2019, in the Wade Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Speed was 86 and passed away from this life on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at her residence near Seminary. Reverend Paul Roney and Reverend Chad Cummins will officiate and interment will be in the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery.

Wade Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Dickens, Zack Williamson, Shaun Williamson, Billy Joe Hynum, Dewayne Fraley, and Jared Speed. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Jamie Speed, Gleen Speed, Lawrence Trigg, and John McPhail.

Beatrice Kathleen Thames Speed was born on April 25, 1934 to David Lenson Thames and Sarah Rebecca Rippy Thames. She was retired from Covington Ridge Assisted Living Center and was formerly an inspector for MFC, now Sanderson Farms.

Mrs. Speed was preceded in death by her mother and father; her husband, James Harold Speed; 2 brothers and 6 sisters.

Survivors include her daughter, Lydia McRaney(Karl W.) of Seminary; 2 sons, Jamie Speed(Judy) and Glenn "Beaver" Speed(Tammy Lynn), both of Collins; 5 grandchildren, Dewayne Fraley, Brandi McPhail(John), Leanne Williamson(Shawn), Britney Hice(Russel), and Jared Speed; 3 great-grandchildren; and 2 sisters, Bonnie Smith and Louise Rammage(Jimmy), both of Mendenhall; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Monday, July 29, 2019 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Wade Funeral Home.
