Robert 'Bob" Dean

Funeral Services for Mr. Bob Dean will be held at 11:00am on Monday, December 11, 2017, at Willow Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Dean passed away from this life on Friday, December 8, 2017 in Collins. Reverend Rocky Holston will officiate and Nell Sims and Danny Wade will perform the musical service. Interment will be in the Willow Grove Cemetery.

Wade Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Sam Whitehead, Aaron Graham, Clayton Williams, Roger Sanford, Walker Dean, and Brad McKissack.

Robert Wall Dean was born August 2, 1925 in Chunky to Elbert D. Dean and Annie Laura Wall Dean. Mr. Dean was a flight instructor and an agricultural pilot. He owned Dean Transportation and was a diesel mechanic. Mr. Dean was a member of Willow Grove Baptist Church, where he served as Deacon.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father; his first wife, Catherine Dean; 1 brother, Cecil Dean; and 1 sister, Lois Harbour.

Mr. Dean is survived by his wife, Julia Rae Dean of Collins; 1 son, Scott Dean and his wife Holly of Madison; 3 grandchildren, Walker Dean, William Dean, and Patrick Dean; 1 nephew, Lamar Harbour and his wife Ruth of DeKalb; 2 step-daughters, Judy Ann Williams of Collins and Lisa Blesse and her husband Steve of Hattiesburg; 1 step-son, Aaron Graham and his wife Jan of Collins; and 5 step-grandchildren; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Monday, December 11, 2017 from 9:30am until 11:00am at Willow Grove Baptist Church.
