Funeral services for Mr. Bobby "Hop" Harper of Soso will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 20, 2021, in the Wade Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Harper, age 62, passed away from this life on Monday, February 15, 2021, in Hattiesburg. Interment will be in the Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery in Jones County. Reverend P.J. Weeks will officiate.

Robert Fredrick Harper was born on August 3, 1958, in Wayne County to Edwin Harper and Delores Farmer Harper. Mr. Harper was a graduate of Jones County Junior College and a food service salesman. Mr. Harper was a member of the Soso First Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon.

Mr. Harper was preceded in death by his father, Edwin "Coach Treetop" Harper, and his mother, Delores Harper Dillen.

Survivors include his wife, Marlene Crocker Harper of Soso; 3 children, Ryan Harper, Stephen Hancock (Gina), and Cynthia Barnett (Barry), all of Laurel; 8 grandchildren, Nonnie, Cooper, Lake, Brooke, Kole, Chance (Amber), Gaica (Josh), and Jaden (Joash); 6 great-grandchildren, Mystic, Maddox, Solomon, Astevia, Brighton, and Nyisha; his father-in-law, Bill Crocker of Laurel; 2 sisters, Kristen Little (Brooks) of Pearl, and Jennifer Cordelle (Ron) of Petal; 1 brother, Dave Dillen of Mandeville, LA; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
