Graveside Funeral Services for Mr. Bruce McDonald will be held at 11:30 am on Thursday, September 8, 2022 in the Ora Cemetery. Mr. McDonald, age 53, passed away from this life on Tuesday, September 6, 2022, in Hattiesburg. Brother West Garner will officiate.

Wade Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Joey Ponder, Andy Polk, John Hosey, Joe Ponder, Charlie Crumpton, and Phillip McDonald. Honorary Pallbearers are Jimmy White, Floyd Gentry, Lucius Hubbard, Dwight "Fats" Thompson, Roger Wood Speed, Brandon McDonald, Nicky Walker, and Raymond Tullos.

Bruce Allen McDonald was born on February 27, 1969, in Collins, to Samuel Esco McDonald and Frances Janelle Norris McDonald. Mr. McDonald was an equipment operator for Covington County. He was the former Raleigh Police Chief, Chief Deputy Sheriff in Covington County, and a Deputy Sheriff in Smith County. Mr. McDonald was a certified welder and was formerly employed with James Machine Works. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Collins.

Mr. McDonald was preceded in death by his mother and father; and 1 brother, Harvey McDonald.

Survivors include his wife, Jessica McDonald of Seminary; 3 daughters, Karie Beth Walker (Anson) of Collins, Ashton Petermann (Bryce) of Collins, and Abby McDonald of Reform, AL; 2 stepchildren, Kloe Stringer and Kara Stringer of Seminary; 5 grandchildren, Savanah Petermann, Daniel Walker, Gabriel Petermann, Kylie Walker, and Emelia Jane Petermann; and 4 brothers, Ronnie McDonald (Pam) of Mize, Lavon McDonald (Delores) of Mt. Olive, Bobby McDonald (Reka) of Collins, and Chris McDonald (Cindy) of Sanford; his father and mother-in-law, Sammy and Ruth Matheny of Sumrall; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Thursday from 9:00am to 11:00am at Wade Funeral Home.
