Funeral services for Mr. Chris Thames will be held at 2:30pm on Sunday, March 29, 2026, in the Wade Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Thames, age 53, passed away from this life on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at his residence in the Mt. Horeb Community. Reverend Brent Wade and Reverend Shawn Hopkins will officiate, and Mrs. Robyn Breakfield will offer a musical tribute. Internment will be in the Mt. Horeb Baptist Church Cemetery.

Wade Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Clay Thames, Jason Pickering, Wiley Pickering, Steve Pickering, Mike Pickering, Ronnie Pickering, Peyton Eiler, and Breydon Eiler.

Christopher David Thames was born on February 10, 1973, in Collins to Willis David Thames and Vivian Lynette Pickering Thames. Chris Thames earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern Mississippi. He was formerly a poultry farmer and worked for the Covington County Sheriff's Department for many years. Mr. Thames made many friends on his Pepi vending route more recently. He took after his dad and liked gardening and being outdoors. Mr. Thames was a loving and dedicated father. He was a member of Venture Church in Hattiesburg.

Mr. Thames was preceded in death by his mother and father, Vivian and Willis Thames.

He is survived by his son, Aiden Thames of Sumrall; a brother Craig Thames and his wife Jodie of Seminary; and a sister, Chelsea Thames Ware and her husband Mac of Collins; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Sunday, March 29, 2026, from 1:00pm until 2:30pm at Wade Funeral Home.
