Funeral Services with military honors for Maj. Donald Carey, USA (ret.) will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, July 20, 2018 at Sweetwater Pentecostal Tabernacle in Moselle. Mr. Carey, age 69, passed away from this life on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at his residence in Seminary. Reverend Daniel Livingston and J.P. Coleman will officiate and interment will be in Bullock Cemetery.

Wade Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Paul Graham, Phillip Coleman, Robert Ellzey, Ronnie Kitchens, Marlan Ellzey, and Jason Carey. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Michael Graham, Anthony Graham, Redgie Bass, Wayne Byrd, James Kitchens, and Jimmy Kitchens.

Donald Edward Carey was born in Laurel on August 24, 1948 to Arthur Lee Carey and Edith Mary Johnson Carey. Mr. Carey received his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Southern Mississippi. Major Carey retired from the U.S. Army. He was a member of Sweetwater Pentecostal Tabernacle.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father; and a brother, Ralph Alan Carey.

Survivors are wife of 46 years, Joyce Coleman Carey of Seminary; 1 daughters, Melissa Carey Bishop (Luke) of Seminary; 2 granddaughters, Cherish and Charity Bishop of Seminary; 1 sister, Mary Lynn Carey of Spanish Fort, AL; 1 nephew, Jason Carey (Adrain) of Gulfport; and 2 great-nephews, Cameron and Cayson Carey of Gulfport; as well a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5:30pm until at Sweetwater Pentecostal Tabernacle in Moselle.
