Funeral Services for Elaine Ainsworth of Collins will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, January 28, 2024, at Salem Baptist Church. Ms. Aisworth passed away from this life on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at The University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. Rev. Steve Wade will officiate and Rev. Danny Powell will provide the musical tribute. Interment will follow in the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery.

Wade Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbeaers will be Clint Welch, Bo Massey, Mike Webb, Oby Rogers, Ray Barria, and Jasper Price. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Cornelius McLaurin, Rick McCraw, and Jim Curry.

Joyce Elaine Windham Ainsworth was born on November 12, 1952, to Charles Edward Windham and Lorena Joyce McCraw Windham in Collins. Elaine Ainsworth was the secretary at Wade Funeral Home, and formerly the secretary-receptionist for Oby Rogers Law Firm and Covington County Hospital. She was a member of Salem Baptist Church.

Elaine Ainsworth held several professions throughout her life, both in California and in Mississippi, working as a banker, a property manager, and as an administrative assistant. She will be fondly remembered as "Mom" and "Aunt Elaine" to her daughter's and her niece's friends, as well as to the many now-grown teenagers who were members of her Sunday School classes. Her hobbies included cooking, spending time with family, and after her retirement, knitting and caring for her beloved puppy Ouiser.

She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Edward Windham; and her infant son, Eric Jason Ainsworth.

Survivors include her mother and daddy, Lorena and Jack Hale of Collins; her daughter, Kim Welch and her husband Clint of Braxton; her grandson, ColeWelch of Braxton; her sister, Judi Anne Sanders of Yorba Linda, CA; step-daughter, Angela Harris and her husband Billof Westerville, OH; neice, Althea Anne Massey and her husband Bo of Byram, and 1 great-neice, Caitlyn Massey of Byram; as well as a host of other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 28, 2024, at Salem Baptist Church, 338 Salem Church Rd., in Collins, from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
