Funeral Services for Fenton Joe Shoemake will be held at 10:00am Friday, August 16, 2019, in the Wade Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Shoemake, age 78, passed away from this life on Monday, August 12, 2019 at his residence near Collins. Brother Steve Carter will officiate and interment will be in the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery.

Wade Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Shoemake, Tristan Shoemake, John Speed, Joe Speed, Jared Willis, and Robert Jackson.

Fenton Joe Shoemake was born on July 6, 1941 in Covington County to Vernile Shoemake and Vera Ford Shoemake. He was a retired welder and attended the Collins Church of Christ.

Mr. Shoemake was preceded in death by his mother and father; his wife of 32 years, Phyllis Ann Terrell Shoemake; 1 son, George Anthony Shoemake; 1 daughter, Dianna Crum; 1 sister, Carolyn Vineyard; and 1 half-brother, Jimmy Dale Dixon.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Diane (John) Russell of Vancleve and Suzanne (Mark) Jackson of Meridian; 1 son, Fenton Joe (Doreen) Shoemake, Jr. of Vancleve; 1 step-daughter, Lisa Shoemake of Gulfport; 1 step-son, Jerry (Linda) Crum of Lafayette, IN; 19 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Ray Shoemake of Collins; and 1 aunt, Peggy Lucky of Pascagoula; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Friday, August 16, 2019 from 9:00am until 10:00am at Wade Funeral Home.
