Funeral services for Mrs. Frances McRaney will be held at 11:00am on Friday, October 21, 2022, in the Wade Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. McRaney, age 90, passed away from this life on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, in Prentiss. Reverend James Walters and Reverend John Logan will officiate. Interment will be in the Lone Star Cemetery.

Wade Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Michael Smith, John Patrick Smith, Morgan Leonard, Ben Leonard, Pat Booth, Gary Byrd, Tim Booth, and Jared McRaney. Honorary pallbearers are John Chain, Mike Booth, and Charles Blackburn.

Frances Catherine Powell McRaney was born on July 21, 1932, in Semmes, AL, to Vaudy George Powell and Alma Gertrude Fort Powell. Mrs. McRaney was a homemaker and formerly a bookkeeper for Four Star Meat Company. She was a member of Lone Star United Methodist Church.

Mrs. McRaney was preceded in death by her mother and father; her husband, Benton McRaney; 3 sons, an infant son, Terry McRaney, and Kendall McRaney; 1 infant daughter; and 10 brothers and sisters.

She is survived by 2 daughters, Beth McRaney Smith (Mike) of Soso, and Patti McRaney Leonard (Mark) of Mt. Olive; 6 grandchildren, Morgan Leonard, Ben Leonard, Michael Smith, John Patrick Smith, Jared McRaney (Natalie), and Amanda Blackburn (J.D.); 5 siblings, Bruce Powell, Georgene Killam, Faye Adams, Raymond Powell, and Glenn Powell; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Friday, October 21, 2022, from 9:30am to 11:00am at Wade Funeral Home.
