Graveside Funeral Services for Mr. Frank Spiers Dobbs will be held at 1:00pm on Sunday, December 11, 2022, at the Okahay Cemetery on Gilmer Road near Hot Coffee. Mr. Dobbs was 82 years of age and a resident of Hot Coffee. Frank Spiers Dobbs passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2022, in Jackson.

Wade Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Serving as pallbearers are Ted W. Dobbs, Robert C. Dobbs, Sr. (represented by his son Robert), Richard T. Dobbs, Jr., Richard P. Duckworth, Troy Davis, and Norman Norris. Honorary pallbearers include James A. Carter, Richard T. Dobbs, Sr., Robert C. Dobbs, Jr., Mark A. Dobbs, James R. Dobbs, Ted A. Dobbs, J. Keith Carter, and Chuck C. Carter.

Frank Spiers Dobbs was born on September 17, 1940, in LaGrange, GA, to Francis Marion Dobbs and Pauline Spiers Dobbs. He grew up in Gulfport, MS and attended Mississippi State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. Following graduation, Mr. Dobbs worked for the Office of Inspector General of the United States. During his 30 years of service with the federal government, he conducted numerous audits for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), the Department of Defense, and the Department of Health and Human Services. After his federal service, Frank owned Dobbs Tree Farm. As the farm matured, any place that a pine tree was removed, Frank planted a hardwood tree to feed the various Hot Coffee wildlife.

Frank was an avid outdoorsman and cook. He was happiest when he was outside regardless of if he was gardening, fishing, hunting, tending his plants or frying okra on the patio. Frank always had a dog by his side with his favorite labs being Chief, Amy, and Bella. He was always eager to share his garden or his time with any friend that was in need. Over the last several years he volunteered with Hot Coffee Hunt for Heroes, a non-profit that provides outdoor recreation for wounded veterans.

Mr. Dobbs was preceded in death by his parents, Francis Marion Dobbs and Pauline Spiers Dobbs, and his brother David R. Dobbs.

Frank Dobbs is survived by his wife of 58 years, Judith Carter Dobbs; three sons: Lt Col William F. Dobbs, USAF, retired, (Salena) of Colorado Springs, CO, Dr. James C. Dobbs (Amber) of Lafayette, LA, and DDS Steven S. Dobbs of White Oak, GA. Frank's legacy continues through eight grandchildren: Nathanael F. Dobbs, Annamarie G. Dobbs, Jonathan W. Dobbs, Andrew J. Dobbs, Carter F. Dobbs, Evelyn J. Dobbs, Eleanor J. Dobbs, and Elaine J. Dobbs. He leaves behind three brothers: Robert C. Dobbs, Sr. (Rita) of Gulfport, Richard T. Dobbs (Lisa) of Gulfport, and Ted W. Dobbs (Debbie) of Plano, TX; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 pm on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at Wade Funeral Home in Collins.
