Graveside funeral services for Mr. Lex Ervin will be held at 2:30 pm on Saturday, August 28, 2021, at the Collins City Cemetery. Mr. Ervin, age 93, passed away from this life on Wednesday, August 25, 2021, in Hattiesburg. Rev. Wesley Kirkley and Rev. Grover Gunn will officiate.

Wade Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Richard McDonald, Kasey Brunner, Chase Brunner, Kaleb Brunner, Tyler McDaniel, and Kevin Perry.

Harold Lex Ervin was born on August 9, 1928, in Jasper County to George Washington and Dora Barnett Ervin. Mr. Ervin was a Korean War Veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a retired painting supervisor from Avondale Shipyard in New Orleans, LA. And a member of McDonald Presbyterian Church.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father; a daughter, Dawn Ervin Brunner; a son-in-law, Mike Hudson; 3 brothers, Charles "Speck" Ervin, Medford Ervin, and Larry Ervin; and 1 sister, Mary Helen Odom.

Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Ernestine "Tina" Norris Ervin; 1 daughter, Ann Ervin McDonald (Richard) of Collins; 1 son, Shane Ervin of Collins; 6 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and 1 brother, Billy Ray Ervin (Patsy) of Petal; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Visitation will be Saturday, August 28, 2021 from 2:00 pm until 2:30 pm at the graveside.
