Funeral Services for Mr. Henry Batte will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at Rock Hill Baptist Church. Mr. Batte, age 79, passed away from this life on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at his residence in Mt. Olive, surrounded by his family and friends. Brother Reese Douglas, Jr., Brother Nelson Crozier, and Brother Ray Magee will officiate and Mr. Jeremy Johnson and Mr. Noah Sanford will perform a musical tribute. Interment will follow in the Rock Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons; Zack Mayfield, Robert Batte, Braden Purvis, Jared "JJ" Graves, Chance Holloway, and Caleb Flannigan. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Henry's Garage Coffee Club; Charlie Anglin, Joe Ponder, James Harvey, Steve Sanford, Paul Little, Danny Waldrop, and Danny McCurdy.

Henry Baley Batte was born on November 26, 1946, on the family farm in Rock Hill to Vermell Hollingsworth Batte and Robert Earl Batte, Sr.

Mr. Batte was the owner and operator of Henry's Garage and Wrecker Service in Mt. Olive for over 50 years. He was a veteran of the Mississippi Army National Guard and had served as an alderman in Mt. Olive for many years. Mr. Batte served as the Covington County Constable for many years and was formerly the County Supervisor for Beat 4 in Covington County. Mr. Batte was a member of Rock Hill Baptist Church.

Mr. Batte was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved restoring old tractors and gardening. Henry Batte was a great friend to countless people in this community and will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father; Vermell Hollingsworth Batte and Robert Earl Batte, Sr.; his wife of 39 years, Janice Brewer Batte; a sister, Joan Batte Lowery; a brother, Robert Earl Batte, Jr, and a grandson, Landon Cade Batte.

Survivors include his wife of 19 years, Brenda Batte of Mt. Olive; his son, Todd (Tammy) Batte of Mt. Olve; his 2 daughters, Melissa Batte of Mt. Olive, and Robyn Batte (Dan) McDonald of Collins; step-son, Charles Angle of New Orleans, LA; 11 grandchildren, Zack (Julia) Mayfield, Robert (Sierra) Batte, Baley Batte Parnell, Jamie (Jared "JJ") Graves, Breanna (Chance) Holloway, Mary (Caleb) Flannigan, Cody Eubanks, Katie (Damion) Mayfield, Madilyn Hardy, Presley Hardy, and Braden Purvis; 6 step-grandchildren, Wes Lott, Carrie (Kevin) Harvey, Colton (Hailey) McDonald, Rainey McDonald, Evan McDonald, and Lily McDonald; 16 great-grandchildren; 4 step-great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Shirley Batte (Bill) Culpepper of Saltillo, and Caroly Batte Sullivan of Mt. Olive; and 2 brothers, Larry (Linda) Batte and Doyle (Kathy) Batte, all of Mt. Olive; as well as a host neices, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The visitation will be Wednesday, March 25, 2026, from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Wade Funeral Home and Thursday, March 26, 2026, from 9:00am until 11:00am at Rock Hill Baptist Church.
