Funeral Services for Ms. Ida Mae Smith will be held at 11:00am on Friday, June 2, 2023, at the Wade Funeral Home Chapel. Ms. Smith, age 70, passed away from this life on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, in Columbia. Reverend Ricky Mitchell & Reverend Glen Shoemake will officiate. Interment will follow in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.

Wade Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be J.D. King, Michael Rainey, Paul Sims, Robert Shoemake, Russ Thompson, and Jody Thompson.

Ida Mae Smith was born on July 24, 1952, in Seminary to Willia Mae Lott Thompson and Claudell Thompson. Ms. Smith was a seamstress at Big Yank, and more recently worked in the Deli at Sunflower. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her father, Claudell Thompson; her mother, Willia Mae Lott Thompson; 1 son, Ricky Boleware; 1 brother, Ellzie Thompson; and 2 sisters, Pauline Walker and Myrtle Grimsley.

Survivors include 1 daughter, April King of Collins; 1 son, Carley Shane Boleware of Richton; 2 grandchildren, Kayla King and J.D King; 4 great-grandchildren, Kayden Tolentino, Kylian Tolentino, Malachi King, and Waylon King; 4 sisters, Erma Sumrall, Rachel Gomez, Mavis Massengale, and Viola Bush; and 2 brothers, Martin Thompson and Gaston Thompson; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Friday from 9:30am until service time at the Wade Funeral Home.
