James Travis "Jim" Wade

Funeral Services with full military honors for James Travis "Jim" Wade will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at the Wade Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Wade, age 82, passed away from this life Sunday, March 19, 2017 in Pheba. The Reverend Tommy Shields will officiate and interment will follow in the Collins City Cemetery.

Wade Funeral Home of Collins is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Casey Summerlin, Ty Summerlin, Craig Wade, Dustin Gilmore, Brad Buckner, and Justin Bussey. Luther Kuykendall will serve as Honorary Pallbearer.

James Travis Wade was born on July 3, 1934 in Collins to Leffie Lavoid Wade and Winnie Lee Waters Wade. Mr. Wade was retired from The U.S. Air Force and was a business owner on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Mr. Wade was a member of Station Creek Baptist Church.

Jim Wade was preceded in death by his mother and father; his wife of 53 years, Shirley Dakin Wade; 1 sister, Joann Hudson Wade; and 2 infant children, David Ray Wade and Laurie Anne Wade.

Survivors are a son, Darren Wade and his wife Linda of Pheba; a daughter, Sandy Wade Summerlin and her husband Mike of Vancleave; a sister, Bobbie Skinner of Laurel; a brother, Billy Wade of Collins; a sister in law, Anne Dakin Chambers and her husband Mike of Lakenheath, England; 6 grandchildren, Casey Summerlin, Ty Summerlin, Kady Gilmore, Lindsey Buckner, Lauryl Bussey and Craig Wade; and 8 great-grandchildren; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 1:00pm until 2:00pm Wednesday at Wade Funeral Home in Collins.
