Graveside Funeral Rites for Mrs. Janet Coulter Thompson will be held at 11:30am on Monday, April 27, 2026, in the Collins City Cemetery. Mrs. Thompson, age 68, passed away from this life on Friday, April 24, 2026, at her residence in Hattiesburg. Brother Robert Cole will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Adam Thompson, Aaron Anderson, Nathan Cascio, Ronnie Blackwell, Jason McRae, Randy Allen, and Chuck Allen.

Wade Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Janet Elizabeth Coulter Thompson was born on August 30, 1957, in Hattiesburg to Norma Jean Herrin Coulter and Shelby Marvin Coulter. Mrs. Thompson attended William Carey University where she was assistant to the Baseball Coach.

Mrs. Thompson loved Gospel Music and was a member of her family's gospel recording group, "The Maranatha Group". She loved painting and was an accomplished artist, as well as enjoying snorkeling, collecting shells, and traveling. Mrs. Thompson's most cherished job was that of wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved her family and her legacy will remain with them in this life during her absence. She attended Grace Baptist Church in Columbia, where her son-in-law served as the pastor.

She was proceeded in death by her mother and father, Norma and Shelby Coulter, and a sister, Ginger Coulter.

Survivors include her husband of 38 years, Jody Thompson of Hattiesburg; her 3 daughters, Jayme (Aaron) Anderson of Hattiesburg; Jinger (Robert) Cole of Columbia, and Jillian (Fiancé, Nathan Cascio) Thompson of Sumrall; her son, James "Jay" Thompson of Hattiesburg; and 7 treasured grandchildren, Carter Anderson, Zoey Anderson, Remington Cole, Kason Cole, William Thompson, Isabella Cascio, and Bennett Cascio; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

The visitation will be from 10:00am until 11:15am on Monday, April 27, 2026, at Wade Funeral Home, 401 Main Street in Collins.
