Funeral Services for Brother Jerry "Buck" McRaney will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at Victory Baptist Church. Brother McRaney, age 72, passed away from this life on Saturday, May 23, 2020 in Hattiesburg. Brothers Jim Roberson, John Reid, Chad Cummings, and Jarrett Darden will officiate. Scotty McRaney, Clay Graves, and Sue McArthur will provide the musical service. Interment will be in the Mt. Horeb Baptist Church Cemetery.

Wade Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Clay Graves, Jarrett Darden, Hadden Boren, Jack Knight, Greg McRaney, Brian McRaney, Randy McRaney, and Mark McRaney. Honorary Pallbearers will be First Responders of West Covington Fire Department, Deacons of the Previous Churches where Brother McRaney Pastored, Coach Jack Bailey, and the Collins High School Football Team Members from 1963-1965.

Jerry Glen "Buck" McRaney was born January 29, 1948 in Bassfield, MS to Ray and Lois Ford McRaney. Mr. McRaney earned an Associate Degree in Machine Shop from Jones County Junior College and two Bachelor of Arts Degrees in Bible Theology and Social Science Education from William Carey College.

Mr. McRaney was a Preacher of the Gospel, bus driver, and house painter. He was a retired schoolteacher, serving 31 years with Covington County School District. He taught 5th-8th grade Social Studies at Hopewell and Collins Middle Schools. Mr. McRaney was a member of Victory Baptist Church and pastor of Stonewall Baptist Church. He previously pastored a host of churches; Bethel Baptist Church, Natchez, MS; Bethlehem Baptist Church, Pinola, MS; Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Sylvarena, MS; Sunshine Baptist Church, Mt. Olive, MS; Union North Baptist Church, Hot Coffee, MS; Oakwood Baptist Church, Lone Star, MS; and Shiloh Baptist Church, Magee, MS. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, discussing politics, and watching the New York Yankees baseball team play.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father; and six siblings, Betty Lou McRaney Calhoun, Bill McRaney, James "Tobe" McRaney, Sarah Jean McRaney Kirkley, Harry McRaney, and Thomas Herlon McRaney.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Jackie Knight McRaney of Collins; 3 daughters, Kristen McRaney Graves(Neil) of Seminary, Gayla McRaney Darden(Tony) of Seminary, and Alana Hope McRaney of Alexandria, Virginia; one son Scott Channing McRaney(Mary Ann) of Collins; 9 precious grandchildren; Trey Graves, Troy Graves, Meaghan McRaney, Brady Darden, Nicholas McRaney, Jarrett Darden, Clay Graves, Leah Boren and Hadden Boren; one brother, Kenneth Ray "Monk" McRaney of Collins; and one sister, Nell Tavlin(Bob) of Madison; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 27, 2020 from 10:00 am until service time at Victory Baptist Church.
