A family memorial service for Jesse Paul Byrd will be held. Mr. Byrd, age 90, passed away from this life on Monday, July 29, 2024, in Collins.

Jesse Paul Byrd was born on February 7, 1934, in Mize, to Anslem King Byrd and Lela Brechee Byrd. Mr. Byrd was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War. He was a diesel mechanic and a Baptist.

Mr. Byrd was preceded in death by her mother and father; 5 sisters and 3 brothers.

Survivors include his daughter, Leigh Leggett (David) of Collins; 1 step-son, Ron Hawkins of Florida; 4 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and 1 brother, Eddie Byrd of Houston, TX; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
