Funeral services for Ms. Jessie Dell Sanford will be held at 11:00am on Friday, May 2, 2025, in the Wade Funeral Home Chapel. Ms. Sanford, age 99, passed away from this life on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, in Collins. Brother Craig Sanford will officiate and interment will follow in the Cold Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Eddie Sanford, Seth James, Ryan Smith, Richard Poore, Wes McQueen, and Terry Holbrook.

Wade Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Jessie Dell Sumner Sanford was born January 7, 1926, in Pelahatchie, to Charles and Mattie Elizabeth Wells Sumner. Ms. Sanford was a homemaker and had retired from Clayton's Drug Store. She was a devoted member of Cold Springs Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years.

She was preceeded in death by her mother and father, Mattie and Charles Sumner; her husband, Willis C. Sanford; her son, Larry Nelson Sanford; her son-in-law, Billy McQueen; 1 brother, H.F. "Bill" Sumner; and 3 sisters, Polly Gatewood, Earline Hill, and Callie Mae Baggett.

Survivors include 1 son, Charles Michael (Deborah) Sanford of Collins; 1 daughter, Judy Elizabeth McQueen of Seminary; 1 daughter-in-law, Janet Clark Sanford of Seminary; 9 grandchildren, Eddie Sanford, Craig Sanford, Melissa Sanford-Gilmore(Terry Holbrook), Brad (Beth) Sanford, Cherie (Mike) Allmon, Katrina Sanford, Kala (Richard) Poore, Jessica (Colby) Mars, and Wes McQueen; 19 great-grandchildren; a host of great-great grandchildren; as well as other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Friday, May 2, 2025, from 9:30am until service time at Wade Funeral Home.
