Graveside funeral services for Mr. John Banister will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, March 12, 2021, at the Willow Grove Cemetery. Mr. Banister, age 76, passed away from this life on Monday, March 8, 2021, in Hattiesburg. The Reverend Timothy Beard will officiate.

Wade Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

John Lawrence Banister was born on October 7, 1944, in Oklahoma to John Dennis Banister and Geraldine Elizabeth Clark Banister. Mr. Banister was a retired employee of the U.S. Postal Service and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Banister was a member of Willow Grove Baptist Church and attended the Collins United Methodist Church.

Mr. Banister was preceded in death by his mother and father; his wife, Barbara Banister; a son, Zane Banister; and a brother, Tommy Banister.

Survivors include his son, Teague Banister of Collins; 2 grandchildren, Ethan and Emma Banister of Seminary; 1 sister, Mary Sue Kuykendall (Bill) of Artesia, NM; and 1 brother, Ken Banister (Judy) of Torrington, WY; as well as host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Thursday, March 11, 2021, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Wade Funeral Home.
