Funeral Services for Mr. John W. Holifield will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at The Blended Church on Hwy. 590 in Seminary. Mr. Holifield, age 79, passed away from this life on Sunday, May 24, 2026, in Hattiesburg. Brother Tim Hopkins will officiate. Interment will follow in the Bullock Cemetery.

Wade Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Grady Windham, Stanley Dean Windham, Dwayne Ellis, Joey Pendleton, Chase Sanford, and Nathan Monk.

John Wilson Holifield was born on December 6, 1946, in Laurel to Alva Kelly Holifield and Wilson Holifield. Mr. Holifield represented Beat 2 on the Covington County Board of Supervisors for over 18 years, during which time he served Five terms as President of the Board. Mr. Holifield was a member of the Mississippi Association of Supervisors, as well as the Mississippi Cattlemen's Association. He was a cattle rancher and for many years was active in the High School Rodeo Circuit with his girls. Mr. Holifield was a member of The Blended Church.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Wilson and Alva Holifield; his wife of 58 years, Martha Flowers Holifield; 2 brothers, Joe and J.W. Holifield; 1 brother-in-law, Dale Flowers; and 1 sister-in-law, Lillian Anne Sims.

Survivors include his 3 daughters, Lea Holifield, Jonna Holifield, and Hope Holifield, all of Seminary; 5 grandchildren; 2 sisters, Dorothy Brooks of Ellisville, and Bobbie Nell Cook of Wagner, SC; and 1 brother-in-law, Reggie Flowers of Laurel; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be the Tuesday, June 2, 2026, from 11:30am until 1:00pm at The Blended Church.
