Graveside funeral services for John Truitt Thornton were held at 11:00am on Wednesday, December 3, 2019, at the Crosby Cemetery in Moselle. Mr. Thornton was 55 years of age and passed away from this life on Sunday, December 1, 2019 in Laurel. Bobby Gerald Maskew officiated.

Wade Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

John Truitt Thornton was born on January 1, 1964 in Hattiesburg to Tracy Lee Thornton and Mary Ann Mitchell Thornton. He was a Methodist.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father.

Mr. Thornton is survived by his brother, Lee Thornton (Pat) of Hattiesburg; 1 aunt, Gracie Mae Ratcliff of Moselle; 1 uncle, Phillip Mitchell of Ellisville; and several relatives, other relatives, and friends.
