Joyce Pitts ( Collins)

Funeral Services for Mrs. Joyce Pitts will be held at 10:00am on Monday, October 7, 2019, in the Wade Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Pitts was 79 and passed away from this life on Wednesday, October 2, 2019, in Magee. Brother Steve Carter will officiate and Interment will be in the Richland City Cemetery.

Wade Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Steve Randall, Gary Randall, Terry Stewart, Mike Stewart, Shane Randall, and Michael Robertson.

Nellie Joyce Pitts was born on October 17, 1939 in Webb, MS to James Ladell "Dell" Hood and Nellie Gray Oates Hood. Mrs. Pitts was a retired logistical secretary and a long-time employee of Jr. Food Mart in Magee. She was a member of the Collins Church of Christ.

Mrs. Pitts loved her family and worked diligently to provide for her 4 boys. One of her greatest joys was hosting large family gatherings.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father; husbands, John L. Pitts, Charles McMillian Stewart, and Milton Arthur Randall; 2 sisters, Eloise McCrary and Elizabeth Ann Smallwood; 1 brother, William C. Hood; a sister-in-law, Mary Alice Hood; and 2 great-grandchildren.

Survivors include 4 sons, Steve Randall (Denise) of Mendenhall, Gary Randall (Charlotte) of Pulaski, Terry Stewart (Tracye) of Collins, and Mike Stewart (Lisa) of Knoxville, TN; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Wilodine Williams of Grenada; and 1 niece, Marie Hood of Richland; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Sunday, October 6, 2019, from 2:00pm until 6:00pm at Wade Funeral Home.
