Rev. Lamar Williams

Funeral services for Reverend Lamar Williams will be held at 11:30 am Saturday, February 25, 2017 at Union Baptist Church. Reverend Williams, age 75, passed away from this life on Thursday, February 23, 2017 in Hattiesburg. The Reverend Dr. Barry Armstrong and Reverend Joe Lott will officiate. Noah Sanford, Mary Ann Sanford, and Catlin Neal will provide the musical service. Interment will be in the Union Baptist Cemetery.

Wade Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be John Folkes, Jonathan Easterling, John Woolwine, Tyler Norman, David Boulton, Tim Collins, Richard Woolwine, and Ron Williams. Honorary Pallbearers will be Currie Davis, Austin Williams, Rufus Trigg, and John Kitchens.

Edward Lamar Williams was born June 10, 1941 in Jasper County to C.E. Williams and Lucille Reynolds Williams. Rev. Williams was a Minister of the Gospel for over 37 years and was a member of the Army National Guard. Reverend Williams was a member of Union Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father; 1 brother, Jerry Williams.

Reverend Williams is survived by his wife of 56 years, Retha Pace Williams of Seminary; 2 daughters, Beverly Loper and her husband Randy of Rose Hill, and Susan Rawls and her husband Mike of Seminary; 1 son, Ron Williams and his wife Janis of Purvis; 2 sisters, Helen Boulton and her husband Bill of Newton, and Faye Etheridge of Newton; 1 brother, Ray Williams and his wife Ruby of Newton; 5 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Saturday from 9:30am until 11:30am at Union Baptist Church.
