Funeral Services for Ms. Marlene D. Flynt will be held at 11:00am on Monday, April 20, 2026, at Corinth Baptist Church in Magee. Ms. Flynt, of Mendenhall and formerly Mt. Olive, passed away from this life on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at Simpson General Hospital in Mendenhall. Brother Andy Gipson, Brother Jay Wesbrooks, and Brother John Hux will officiate. Mr. Jared Vardaman and Mrs. Debbie Cone will provide the musical tribute. Interment will follow in the Williamsburg Baptist Church Cemetery in Collins.

Wade Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Flynt, Sam McWilliams, Josh Flynt, Joey Wester, Gene Ramsey, Paul Peets, Jr., and Randy McWilliams. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Larry Barefoot and Chris Cowart.

Donnie Marlene Dodd Flynt was born on October 7, 1937, in Drew to James Herman Dodd and Flora Odis Gammill Dodd. She attended Hinds Community College and later Southeastern Bible College. Ms. Flynt and her husband Earl were the longtime owners of Sunset Grocery Store in rural Covington County. She began working for the Bank of Mt. Olive in 1975 and retired from Regions Bank in Mt. Olive. Ms. Flynt's work ethic forced her out of retirement, and she became the secretary-receptionist at Wade Funeral Home in Collins. Ms. Flynt was the office manager for many years until her failing health forced her to go home, but her service to Wade Funeral Home didn't stop. Her phone calls were frequent to make sure Steve Wade was behaving, "as much as he can!" Her laughter and love is, and will always be, treasured by the staff at Wade Funeral Home. She was a member of Corinth Baptist Church.

Marlene Flynt loved her Lord, her family, and her friends. She treasured her grandchildren and loved attending any sporting event they were involved in. Many at Simpson Academy were used to hearing "Grammy" yell "Go Sammy Go!"

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Flora and James Dodd, her stepmother, Beatrice Dodd; her husband of 47 years, Earl Jackson Flynt, Jr., her sister, Lois Bray; and a sister-in-law, Betty Jo Mixon.

Survivors include her daughter, Amy Flynt McWilliams and her husband David of Mendenhall; her 2 sons, Ronald Flynt and his wife Melinda of Hickory, NC, and Jerry Flynt and his wife Bronwyn of Rossville, TN; 7 grandchildren, Amanda Flynt, Ryan Flynt, Morgan Sanders, Kasey Wester, Josh Flynt, Keely Flynt, and Sam McWilliams; 9 great-grandchildren, Eli Flynt, Baylor Flynt, Tripp Wester, Madden Wester, Sophia McWilliams, Tyson McWilliams, Greyson Sanders, Reece Sanders, and Lane Sanders: 2 sisters, Maxine Barefoot of Vicksburg, and Joyce Cowart of Canton ; and a sister-in-law, Lynda Peets of Maylene, AL ;as well as a host of other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.

Visitation will be held from 9:30am until service time on Monday, April 20, 2026, at Corinth Baptist Church, 207 Church Rd. Magee, MS 39111.
