Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Martha Harris Baird will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, October 14, 2021, at the Decatur Cemetery. Mrs. Baird, age 84, passed away from this life on Sunday, October 10, 2021, at Rome Health & Rehabilitation Center in Rome, GA. Reverend Thomas Shields will officiate.

Martha Kathleen Harris Baird was born on May 9, 1937, in Newton to James Harvey Harris, Sr. and Maude Etoile Harris. Mrs. Baird was a graduate of Salem High School, Jones County Junior College, and the University of Southern Mississippi. She taught school for a number of years and retired from Burlington Coat Factory. Mrs. Baird was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She loved to read and loved her dog, Angus.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father; a brother, James Harvey Harris, Jr.; and a sister, Sylvia Sue Harris.

Survivors include 2 sisters, Sandra D. Broussard (Louis) of Livingston, LA, and Deborah Harris (Monica Ward) of Lander, WY; 1 brother, Michael D. Harris (Christy)of Collins; numerous nieces and nephews; and her adopted family, Milt and Angie Travis, Josh, Jacob, and Sarah of Rome, GA.; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
