Funeral services for Mrs. Melva Jean Rogers will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, August 2, 2021, at Salem Baptist Church. Mrs. Rogers, age 88, passed away from this life on Thursday, July 29, 2021, in Collins. Reverend Dennis Campbell will officiate and Janice Shanks, Donna Campbell, and Jeremy Johnson will provide the musical service. Interment will follow in the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery.

Wade Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Scott Hall, Dick Mauldin, Shane Tubbs, David Hintz, Jonathan Mauldin, Jared McQuirter, and Phillip Londeree. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Dave Bender, Norman Robinson, Henry Jones, Jack Mauldin, Carlton McRaney, Hascal Collins, and Paul Brigham.

Melva Jean Mauldin Rogers was born on April 19, 1933, in Collins to Melvin and Annie Lee Craft Mauldin. Mrs. Rogers was a homemaker and a member of Salem Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father; her husband of 42 years, Paul Rigney Rogers; 1 son, Melvin Dirk Rogers; 3 brothers, Chuck Mauldin, Ladell Mauldin, and Edward Mauldin; and 1 sister, Annette Mauldin.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Rev. Dr. Ann Michele Rogers Brigham of West Brookfield, MA, and Melanie Rogers Tubbs (Shane) of Columbus; 1 honorary son, Scott Hall; 8 grandchildren, Alyssa Rogers, Paul Brigham, Martha Brigham, Giulia Hintz, Kathryn Hintz, David Hintz, Caroline Hintz, and Kelley McChargue; 1 great-grandchild, Sierra Brigham; 1 brother, Jack Mauldin (Pat) of Collins; and 1 honorary sister, Bobbie McRaney, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be the Monday from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Salem Baptist Church.
