Graveside Funeral Services for Mrs. Nellie Graham Smith will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, November 20, 2021, in the Lone Star Cemetery. Mrs. Smith, age 82, passed away from this life on Sunday, November 14, 2021, in Hattiesburg. Reverend James Walters and Reverend Danny Forrest will officiate.

Wade Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Steve Wise, Matthew Wise, Ethan Wise, Steven Purser, Lynn Smith, and Clint Hudson.

Nellie Carolyn Graham Smith was born on February 8, 1939, in Covington County to James Marion Graham and Myrtle Delilah McRaney Graham. Mrs. Smith retired from the oil, gas and land title business as co-owner of Smith Abstracting and Title Company. Prior to her abstracting career she worked in the office of Fontaine, Collins, MS.

Until her failing health, she was an active member of the Lone Star United Methodist Church. Nellie Smith was blessed with wonderful neighbors, extended family members and Church Family.

Her family wishes to express their gratitude for the outpouring of love and many acts of kindness. The family is also thankful to the team at Encompass Home Health and Hospice for their compassionate loving care as well as the caring staff of Magnolia Retirement Home and Covington Ridge Retirement Home.

Most recently Mrs. Smith resided at Bellevue Assisted Living where she felt at home and was comforted by their outpouring of loving support. She loved spending time on Bellevue's porch watching birds and enjoying the fresh air and sunshine.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father; her husband of 60 years, Johnny Doyle Smith; and 2 brothers, Edwin Graham and David Graham.

Survivors are her daughter, LaDonna Wise (Steve) of Collins; her son, Gary Smith of St. Petersburg, FL; grandsons, Matthew E. Wise of Lucedale and Ethan G. Wise (Shelby) of Mt. Olive; 3 great-granddaughters, Haylie Wise Reid, Charlotte Wise, and Murphy Wise; 2 brothers, Mack Graham and Billy Sam Graham, both of Collins; 2 sisters, Katherine Abercrombie (Hardy) of Seminary and Huldah Ingram of Hattiesburg; and 1 brother-in-law, V.O. Smith (Ada) of Collins; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Saturday, November 20, 2021, from 9:00am until 10:00am at Wade Funeral Home.
