Funeral Services for Mr. Ray Newman will be held at 12:00pm on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at The Springs Church. Mr. Newman, age 78, passed away from this life on Thursday, November 2, 2023, in Hattiesburg. Reverend Gerald Willis will officiate and interment will be in the Cold Springs Cemetery.

Wade Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Steven Martin, Jake Bolton, Robert Holland, III, Cody Lint, Ryan Martin, and David Bolton.

Arthur Ray Newman was born on October 11, 1945, in New Orleans, to Walter Clay Newman, Sr, and Audrey Adams Newman. Mr. Newman was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in Korea. While in Korea, Mr. Newman rescued a young Korean boy who had no surviving family and brought Johnny Newman back to the United States. Mr. Newman had served as a deputy sheriff and a police officer. He was a retired contractor was a member of Ft. Benning Baptist Church.

Mr. Newman was preceded in death by his mother and father; 1 sister, Shirley Jean Rawls; and 1 brother, Walter Clay Newman, Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Newman of Collins; 4 children, Tim Newman of Collins, Tammy Bolton (David) of Seminary, Paula Martin (Ryan) of Diana, TX, and Brandy Holland (Robert) of Pittsburg, TX; 8 grandchildren, Amber Lint, Dalton Newman, Dustin Newman, Steven Martin, Kynli Martin, Robert Holland, III, Charlee Bolton, and Jake Bolton; 2 great-grandchildren, Ryleigh Lint and Reagan Lint; his twin sister, Alice Perry of Franklinton, LA; and 2 brothers, Fred Haven (Jennifer) of Raceland, LA, and Johnny Newman of Del Rio, TX; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 9, 2023, from 10:00am until 12:00pm at The Springs Church.
