Funeral Services for Mr. Rayvon Amason will be held at 10:00am on Thursday, June 14, 2018 at Zion Hill Baptist Church in Mize. Mr. Amason, age 89, passed away from this life on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 in Hattiesburg. Reverend Reese Douglas, Jr. and Reverend Steve Bush will officiate and interment will follow in Zion Hill Cemetery.

Wade Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Kirby Smith, Larry Waters, Larry "Sam" Waters, Matthew Hathorne, Davin Burch, and David Hathorne. Benton Sullivan, Danny Burch, Jeffrey Burch, Mitchell Amason, Matt Morale, and Sonny Herbold will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.

Rayvon Amason was born in Simpson County on July 24, 1928 to Evon R. Amason and Lola Mae Jordan Amason. Mr. Amason was the former owner of Amason Jewelry in Magee and was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, and his daughter, Amerylis Ann Waters.

Survivors include his wife of 72 years, Mamie Lee Smith Amason of Mize; 2 daughters, Sandra Smith (Kirby) of Rowlett, TX and Rhonda Hathorne of Mize; his son-in-law, Larry Waters of Collins; 5 grandchildren, Nikki Perison, Leigh Ann Waters, Larry "Sam" Waters, Kimberly Morale (Matthew), and Matthew Hathorne;  5 great-grandchildren, Rylan Butler, Lyndon Butler, Jaylyn Perison, Jax Perison, and Clark Morale; 1 sister, Aderienne Pennington of Mt. Olive; and 1 brother, Mitchell Amason (Marie) of Mize as well a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Wade Funeral Home.
