Funeral Services for Reverend Rudolph Sims of Collins, will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at Salem Baptist Church. Rev. Sims, age 88, passed away from this life on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at Covington Ridge Assisted Living in Collins. Reverend Dr. Brett Golson, Reverend Stephen Hartman, and Reverend, Brandon Knight will officiate. Mary Ann Shoemake and Julia Rae Graham will provide the musical service. Interment will follow in the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery.

Wade Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Mark Rogers, Leslie Rutland, David Pickering, Frank Sullivan, Mike Landry, and Kevin Polk. Honorary Pallbearers include Terry Ward, Johnny Keys, Sammy Davis, Ledrew Smith, Paul Mooney, and Quintin Mathis.

Rudolph Aaron Sims was born on April 14, 1937, in Seminary to Aaron Joseph Sims and Doris Upton Sims. Rev. Sims was a veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard. He owned and operated a steel contracting business for many years. Rev. Sims was a cattle farmer and a retired Baptist Preacher. He had formerly pastored Ora Baptist Church and Lone Star Baptist Church in Covington County. Rev. Sims was a member of Salem Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Doris and A.J. Sims; his first wife, Charlene Walters Sims; and a sister, Judy Sims Thompson.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Doris "Dot" Speed Sims of Collins; 2 daughters, Debbie (James) Berger of Orlando, FL, and Dori Crapps of Lebanon, PA; 4 grandchildren, Brandon (Ashley) Knight, Christian (Robert) King, Lily Crapps, and Gracie Crapps; 6 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Ralph (Nell) Sims of Collins, and Jerry (Patty) Sims of Hattiesburg; 2 sisters. Sue (Billy Ray) Smith of Seminary, and Karen (Mickey) Howard of Jackson; 1 brother-in-law, Huey Thompson of Sumrall; 1 sister-in-law, Jo (Norman) Robinson of Muscle Shoals, AL; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

The family will receive visitors on Wednesday, February 4, 2026,  from 12noon until 2:00pm at Salem Baptist Church.
