A  Memorial Services for Mrs. Rhonda Sanford will be held at 11:00am on Friday, July 24, 2026, at Salem Baptist Church. Mrs. Sanford, age 52,  passed away from this life on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at her residence near Collins. Reverend Stephen Hartman will officiate.

Rhonda Joann Mitchell Sanford was born on December 14, 1973, in Hattiesburg to William Alonzo Mitchell and Sandra Renae Hancock Mitchell. She was a homemaker and a member of Grace Church.

She was preceded in death by her father, William Alonzo Mitchell; her daughter, Lisa Renae Smith; and her step-father, Ronald Lewis Smith.

Survivors include her husband, Jeffery L. Sanford, Sr. of Collins; her mother, Sandra Smith; her 2 sons, Andrew Scott (Erika) Hall of Dayton, TX, and Alex (Alexis Boyle) Hall of Seminary; 9 grandchildren; step-son, Jeffery L. (Jessie) Sanford, Jr. of Seminary; step-daughter, Karen Denise Sanford of Seminary; 4 brothers, William Mitchell, Ricky Mitchell, Ronald L. Smith, II, and Ronald James Smith; and 3 sisters, Sindy Haden, Tina Sanford, and Trista L. Smith; as well as a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.
