Funeral services for Richard B. "Dick" Mason will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, February 29, 2020 in the Wade Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Mason, age 91, passed away from this life on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 in Hattiesburg. The Reverend Thomas Shields will officiate. Interment will be in the Prentiss City Cemetery.

Wade Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be John Wallin, F. Marc Richards, Chuck Crouch, Capt. John R. Wallin, Capt. Mason Wallin, 1 ^st Lt. Michael Wallin, and Danny Waldrup. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Chandler Rochelle, Reid Rochelle, Carter Crouch, Walker Crouch, Jimmy Williams, Richard Venturini, and Frank Venturini.

Richard Britton "Dick" Mason was born on February 5, 1929 in Des Moines, IA to Nathan L. Mason and Margie M. Flaharty. Mr. Mason was a veteran of the United States Army and earned his B.A. in Business Administration and his B.S in Animal Husbandry from Midland College in Freemont, NE. Dick Mason was Certified Firearms Instructor for the National Rifle Association, where he was active in all facets of the NRA. Mr. Mason was formerly a Deputy Sheriff for the Maricopa County Sheriff's Posse, Mounted Patrol Division. Dick Mason had a very successful career in the Petroleum Busness, as a Landman and Title Abstractor. Mr. Mason was a member of the Free and Accepted Masons and was a member of the Collins Presbyterian Church.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father; his wife of 56 years, Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Williams Mason; and 2 sisters, Nathalie Heskett and Deloyce VanGunay.

Survivors are his 3 daughters, Laci Wallin and her husband John E. of Woodbridge, VA, Nanci Richards and her husband F. Marc of  St. Joseph, IL, and Vikki Crouch and her husband Chuck of Hernando; 10 grandchildren, Anna Elizabeth Wallin, John Richard Wallin, Mason Edward Wallin (Marissa), Michael Patrick Wallin (Elizabeth), Carter Fox Crouch, Stephen Chandler Rochelle, William Walker Crouch, Isabella Britton Rochelle, Nathaniel Reid Rochelle, and Campbell Cathryn Crouch; and 1 great-grandchild, Ellie Jane Wallin; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at Wade Funeral Home.
