Graveside Funeral Rites for Mr. Richard Sanford will be held at 9:00am on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, in the Collins City Cemetery. Mr. Sanford, age 61, passed away from this life on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at his residence near Seminary. Reverend Lee Faler will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Samuel Sanford, Kyler Sanford, Landon Sanford, Rose Sanford, Alex Hall, Anthony Mitchell, Justin Mitchell, and Konner Smith. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be William Mitchell, Ryan Mitchell, and Jeffery Sanford, Jr..

Richard Darrell Sanford was born on July 30, 1965, in Collins to Jeanette Yawn Sanford and Rodney Lee Sanford. Mr. Sanford was a road formen for Covington Couty Beat 1, and was formerly a truck driver for Sanderson Farms.

He was proceeded in death by his mother and father, Jeanette Yawn McKenzie and Rodney Sanford.

Survivors include his wife of 17 years, Tina Mitchell Sanford; his daughter, Cortney Lashae Ford; 3 brothers, Jimmy Sanford, Jeffery Sanford, and Ray Sanford; and 2 sisters, Mary Sierra and Shirley Jeanette Sanford; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
