Funeral services for Mrs. Violet Walker will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, in the Wade Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Walker, age 76, passed away from this life on Thursday, December 25, 2025, at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel. Brother Lon Keene will officiate and interment will follow in the Collins Cemetery.

Wade Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Eddie McKenzie, Dakota Parsons, J.D. Byrd, Isaiah Dennis, Kevin Walker, and Jacob Dennis.

Violet Gwendle McKenzie Walker was born on August 8, 1949, in Magee to Carole Chain McKenzie and Brother Jessie McKenzie. Mrs. Walker was retired from Magnatech and Wal-Mart and was a member of Northside Pentecostal Church.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Jessie and Carole McKenzie; and her husband of 49 years, Herman Walker.

Survivors include 3 brothers, Jerry McKenzie of Seminary, Aubrey (Becky) McKenzie of Collins, and Kent (Wanda) McKenzie of Seminary; 2 sisters, Brenda (John) Lynes of Collins, and Sheila (Doug) Byrd of Seminary; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be the Tuesday, December 30, 2025, from 12:30pm until 2:00pm at Wade Funeral Home.
