Graveside funeral rites for Ms. Virgie A. Lawson will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, May 13, 2016, at the Holy Temple Cemetery in Seminary. Ms. Lawson was 82 years of age and passed away from this life on Wednesday, May 11, 2016, in Hattiesburg. The Reverend Larry Dennis will officiate.
Wade Funeral Home of Collins is in charge of arrangements.
Virgie Mae Aultman Lawson was born on May 3, 1934 in Seminary to Otho Aultman and Wilrey Boleware Aultman.
Ms. Lawson was the retired legal secretary and was a member of New Fellowship Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father; her husband, Ernest Louis Sanford, Jr., and several siblings.
Survivors include 1 son, Roger Wayne Sanford and his wife Remie of Hattiesburg; 1 daughter, Rhonda Pittman of Gulfport; 2 grandchildren, Christie Pittman and Christian Sanford; and 1 great grandchild, Angel Pittman; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
