Funeral services for Mr. Wayne Goss will be held at 12:00pm on Friday, August 22, 2025, in the Wade Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Goss, age 85, passed away from this life on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at the Covington County Hospital in Collins. Reverend Dr. Hal Hood will officiate and interment will follow in the McDonald Chapel Cemetery.

Wade Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Bynum, Dr. Eddie Gibson, Bobby White, Dr. Martin Harvey, Shawn Daughdrill, and Steve Sanford. Honorary Pallbearers are Bobby Layton, Bob Dickens, Don Houston, Billy Wade, and Kevin Ramage.

Gordon Wayne Goss, Sr. was born on December 24, 1939, in Talladega, AL, to Bradley Alonzo Goss and Velma Lorraine Arnold Goss. Mr. Goss was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, where he served as assistant to the Chaplain. He was a police officer with the Huntsville Police Department in Huntsville, AL. Mr. Goss worked extensively in the airline industry, starting with Southern Airlines and ending with his retirement from Continental Air Lines. Wayne Goss was a Master Mason for over 50 years, and was a member of the Olive Branch #34 Masonic Lodge. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Collins.

Wayne Goss never met a stranger. He loved talking and visiting with friends, family, and his fellow co-workers. He was a wonderful husband and father, and he truly treasured his role as grandfather and great-grandfather. His absence from us all will be greatly felt by all of his family and friends, until we meet him again in his Heavenly Home.

Mr. Goss was preceded in death by his mother and father, Velma and Bradley Goss, and 1 brother, Gary Goss.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Faye Nell Kirkley Goss of Collins; 3 children, Gordon (Tammy) Goss and Lisa (Stacy) Gandy, all of Collins, and Warren (Lety) Goss of Miami, FL; 9 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 1 sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Janice and Billy Wade of Collins; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be the Friday, August 22, 2025, from 9:30am until 12:00pm at Wade Funeral Home.
