W. C. Ford

Funeral services for Mr. W. C. Ford will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at Station Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Ford, age 83, passed away from this life on Sunday, December 11, 2016 in Collins. Reverend Steve Ellis and Reverend Joe Lott will officiate. Rosemary Mooney,Wryn Morgan, and The Station Creek Choir will provide the musical service. Interment will be in the Station Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Wade Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Ford, Joel Ford, Jim Ford, Terry Grissom, Bobby Grissom, and Mark Grissom.

William Canton Ford was born November 4, 1933 in Covington County to James Oliver Ford and Edna Elizabeth Mauldin Ford. Mr. Ford was the retired owner of Main Street Barber Shop in Collins, where he served for over 50 years. Mr. Ford was a friend to everyone who knew him and he will be missed by this community. W. C. Ford was a decorated veteran of the U.S. Navy, where he served with distinction in the Korean War. Mr. Ford was a life-long member of Station Creek Baptist Church.

W. C. Ford was preceded in death by his mother and father; his son, William Canton Ford, II, 2 sisters, Doris Harrison and Pauline Mullins; 2 brothers, James Ray Ford and Jerry Ford; and 4 brothers-in-law, E.L. "Snookey" Stewart, Edwin Grisssom, Jessie Harrison, and L.T. "Buster Mullins.

Mr. Ford is survived by his wife of 59 years, Clara Stewart Ford of Collins; his son, Ben Ford and his wife Frankie of Collins; 2 granddaughters, Meagan Ford and Erin Ford, both of Collins; 1 sister, Helen Grissom of Taylorsville; 2 sisters-in-law, Johnnie Ford and Christine Stewart, both of Collins; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at the Wade Funeral Home in Collins and Wednesday from 9:00am until 11:00am at Station Creek Baptist Church.
