Mr. Dan Pilkington

A Celebration of the Life of William "Dan" Pilkington will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Cold Springs Baptist Church in Collins. Mr. Pilkington departed this life for Heaven on August 9, 2017, after a hard-fought battle with cancer. The Reverend Wes Garner and Reverend Joseph Bird will officiate.

Wade Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

William "Dan" Pilkington was born October 5, 1947 in Talladega, Alabama to John Bill Pilkington and Merle Pilkington. Following his graduation from Munford High School in 1966, Dan Pilkington proudly served four years in the United States Air Force. After leaving the military, Dan was employed by Colonial Pipeline Company and retired in 2002. He later moved to Collins, Mississippi, and worked with the late Randy Culpepper and Culpepper Enterprises, Inc., until 2011. Dan deeply loved God, his family and his friends. Mr. Pilkington was a member of First Baptist Church of Collins.

Dan Pilkington was preceded in death by his first wife, Donna Larsen Pilkington; his mother and father; and 1 brother, Jimmy Wayne Pilkington.

He is survived by his wife, Judi Pilkington; his children, Wendy P. McGraw, William D. Pilkington, Jr. (Jennifer), Cash C. Cameron, and Carly Cameron Pfeiffer (Michael), 2 grandsons, Reilly Cole Reardon and Caleb Dan Reardon, 2 sisters, Julia P. Ledbetter (Pat) of Spartanburg, SC, and Joyce P. Smith (Tom) of Munford, AL, and 2 brothers, Larry Michael Pilkington of Navarre, FL, and John Allen Pilkington (Alison)of Ringgold, GA; many special nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends Dan deeply loved God, his family and his friends.

The family will receive visitors at the church from 11:00 A.M. until the service time.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Asbury Hospice House, 304 S. 40th Avenue, Hattiesburg Mississippi 39402, to Cold Springs Baptist Church, to First Baptist Church of Collins, or to any charity of your choice.
